Christmas Golden Cake

Melinda Bone's grandmother's special pound cake recipe that she baked every Christmas

  • Tube Pan or Layered Pans


  • 9 egg yolks
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 ½ cups butter
  • ¾ tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tsp baking powder
  • 4 ½ cups flour
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups milk


  • Preheat oven to 350˚ F.
  • Beat one egg at a time with sugar and butter until creamy. Add vanilla.
  • Add sifted dry ingredients, alternating with milk. 
  • Pour into a greased and floured tube pan or layered pans. Bake at 350˚ F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
